Kastri

This is a small village of Artemisio municipality, near Gouves. It is built at an altitude of about 100 meters, with a beautiful view over the Aegean Sea. The combination of the forest with the blue sea is unique. An ancient settlement is located in the position Paliokastro, in a cliff with a stream and lush vegetation. Kastri exists for several decades as a settlement and served as a natural watchtower to protect the inhabitants from the invasions of the barbarians. Noteworthy is the Church of the Nativity of Holy Mary.
